Patron’s Picks for 2011 Toronto Fringe Fest – get tickets to those shows that kept selling out!
By Megan Mooney
Each of the festival’s 13 main venues has a Patron’s Pick. It is determined by the show that sells the most tickets to their show over the course of the festival. Unlike during the rest of the festival, where only 50% of the tickets are available for advance sale, For the Patron’s Pick, 100% of tickets can be sold in advance, so make sure to buy your tickets early. They’re on sale now, and you buy them just like any other advance tickets at the Fringe.
All the patron’s picks are Sunday evening, a listing of the time in each venue is in bold in the Sunday section of the Master Schedule.
See below for a listing of all the patron’s picks:
Advertise with MoT for the rest of Fringe – Bargain Basement Prices…
By Megan Mooney
So, I’ve been too busy getting set up for Fringe to do anything about advertising during Fringe on Mooney on Theatre this year. But I really really want to have local advertizing on Mooney on Theatre instead of Google Ads. Google ads is make me a surprising amount of money, apparently I have a really good click-through rate, but I don’t have the control I want. I want to feature local businesses and arts organizations if I can.
Mooney on Theatre is completely volunteer run, but our ads pay for administrative costs (hosting, publicity stuff, business cards etc).
This would be an excellent time to advertise printing services, headshots, rehersal spaces, upcoming shows, general arts organizations and companies things like that.
With that in mind, I’m offering super super super cheap prices for ads for this week, where we expect to get about 50,000 hits (we got almost 40,000 in the first week, and Fringe didn’t start until Wednesday night).
So, here’s what’s up for offer Read the rest of this entry »
Mooney on Theatre Commenting Policy
By Megan Mooney
We invite and encourage conversation on Mooney on Theatre. Thoughtful conversation. Conversation that helps to develop a more complete picture of the play (or dance, or opera or whatever) in question. Heck, we love getting them. Anytime people are talking theatre I’m a happy camper.
I love the conversations, and to help make them as productive, interesting and revealing as possible, I have some commenting guidelines. Unfortunately, up until now, those guidelines have been bouncing around in my head. It’s time for me to actually put down some type of commenting policy in writing for Mooney on Theatre.
The short version is basically Submit stuff that furthers the conversation, and be nice.
Some context and the longer more detailed version follows:
