A Fringe Contest Worth Dancing About!
By Crystal Wood
The Fringe Festival isn’t just for theatre lovers. Thanks to the Fringe Dance Initiative, 11 dance shows are also a part of this year’s festival.
To encourage people to see these shows (as if I needed any encouragement), the Fringe is holding a contest. Here’s how it works.
Attend a dance show at the Fringe, and you will receive a stamp card with 5 empty boxes. Each time you attend one of the dance shows, hang around after and ask one of the performers to stamp or sign your card. Once you’ve filled all 5 boxes, give it to one of the dance artists or drop it off at the Dance Umbrella of Ontario (490 Adelaide Street W.)
What can you win? How does a trip sound? (To Ottawa, Montreal or Quebec City.) You could also win a spa package, tickets to a dance performance, or an aerial dance lesson.

Fringe For Free! The Flying Avro Arrow Thurs July 1 at 8pm
Apparently we’re in musical mode right now. Last night we had a draw and sent someone to see the musical comedy Joe White and the Seven Divorcees for free. Tonight we’re going to do a draw for a pair of tickets to The Flying Avro Arrow, another musical comedy.
This is one that Mooney on Theatre has already reviewed, sort of. It was involved in the 2010 New Ideas Festival at Alumnae Theatre and Sam checked it out. She loved it.
In fact, I’m pretty sure she’s going to the show tonight…
For your chance to win a pair of free tickets to tonight’s 8pm show, just send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com with the subject line "Avro Arrow Contest". A random draw will be held for the winner at 6pm. Include your name in the email, and if you have a cell number, include it so that if you win, we can text you and let you know.
As always, we won’t do anything untoward with your email address, the only thing we’ll use it for is this specific contest.
Check out The Flying Avro Arrow press release below for more information.
