A glam rock puppet musical perfect for the whole family!

EMBARASSING SOCIAL DISASTER! Mick has just experienced the first, and definitely the most disastrous performance of his young life. The St. Catharines Legion show was a rough start, and if he can’t get his singing up to par by the time his school rock
band tour makes it to Toronto, he’ll be done for sure. Just when he is about to give up, a mysterious but friendly glam rock karaoke singer appears and transports him to the brightly coloured and wild world of Rock Land. Mick must embark on a quest filled with obstacles to finally meet the powerful Rock God who can help him make his Toronto
show the best ever.

With puppets, newly composed rock music, a large cast, awesome characters, groovy sets, and a cameo appearance by the Rock God himself, Rock Time 2009 is sure to delight both young and old. From the team that brought you Fart Factory: The Musical! (2008 Toronto Fringe) and crafted with the intention to introduce kids to the fun of glam rock, Rock Time 2009 delivers a hilarious and relatable story that will inspire children to totally rock out and never give up on their dreams.

Renee Goulet (Playwright/ Producer/ Puppet Designer/ Mick) has been building puppets for 6 years and has had a fantastic relationship with them since childhood. A highlight in her puppetry career was the juicy political role of Sir John A MacDonald in the 2008 FringeKids hit, Fart Factory: The Musical! Renee comes from Ryerson University’s Radio
and Television Arts program and makes stop motion films in her spare time.

Kristen McGregor (Playwright/ Producer/ Ms.Fartolot/ Sammyneemoi) is a Toronto-based writer, clown, puppeteer and character performer. She makes her living writing television and radio, working in children’s media, and teaching scriptwriting for children. When she’s not freelancing at Canada’s award-winning Kids’ CBC, Kristen performs around the city with regular appearances at Lunacy Cabaret, Bingo: The Show, and The Full Bawdy Comedy Show. She holds a B.A from Ryerson University in Radio and Television and has the unique honour of being the last person to have her hand inside Jerome the Giraffe from television’s The Friendly Giant. Rock Time 2009 is her latest project after penning last year’s Toronto Fringe KidsVenue success, Fart Factory: The Musical!
