a jay stewart project is proud to present Hard & Able: Celebrating Queer Disability.

Host and spoken word agent provocateur, Jay Stewart will take serious issues and turn
them into controversial & hilarious pieces of art, such as his previous works “Don’t
Hate, Just Masturbate” and “Shoot a Load, Not Yourself”. Stewart was part of the 1st
annual Young Creator’s Unit at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre for creator/performers
under the age of 25, and has performed at the International Toronto AIDS Conference,
Goodhandy’s, Scarborough Pride, and many other stages.

This event promises to reveal to audiences that queer, disabled artists are present within our community and deserve many more opportunities to display their unique artistry”, said Stewart, who gratefully acknowledges the support of the Community One Foundation.

Hard & Able: Celebrating Queer Disability will feature ASL interpretation. Buddies in
Bad Times Theatre is a 100% accessible venue.

This one-night-only cabaret features ten acts that identify as both queer and disabled,
including photographer Chris Ablett, spoken word artist Duncan Armstrong (Pride
2009, Word on the Street) , singer Dan Beaman, videographer Melisa Brittain (Alberta
Beef Drag Kings), actor/writer Philip Cairns (Buddies;Theater Center), musician
Lindsay Sarah Czitron (Queercab; Fruit Loopz), former world champion/paralympic
medallist/videographer Danielle Peers, drag king/playwright Luka Sidaravicious
(Hysteria, Inside Out, Pridecab), TakeMe Spears (Asian Express, Color Me Dragg),
singer Rebecca Spour, and african creative artist Onyinyechukwu Udegbeand.
