Life Games: Toronto 2010 Fringe Preview

Life Games produced by Ten Toes

In presentation with the Toronto Fringe Festival

The George Ignatieff Theatre located at 15 Devonshire Place

The premiere work of Ten Toes Dance Company, Life Games, is a witty, light hearted exploration of the trials and tribulations of life through innovative new dance. The work is collaboratively created by a trio of York University dance students and alumna including Hannah Greyson-Gaito, Emma Letki, and Julie McLachlan. Combining dance and theatre Ten Toes has created an easily accessible dance theatre performance, touching on subjects that everyone of can relate to – childhood, adolescence, and the multi layers adulthood.

Life Games follows three women from their childhood until late in their adulthood. Stumbling through hand games and video games the children mature into teens and adults. As adults the three women get caught up in the game of life, but find time to reflect on the joys of life.

Together Greyson-Gaito and Letki have worked on other choreographic endeavors including Army of Two, a duet directed by Greyson-Gaito as part of the Greysongaito Company. Respectively they act as editor and treasurer of Merge Zine, written by and for emerging dance artists in Canada.
