Linda & Jason – Toronto Fringe 2012 Press Release

From press release

Coffeehouse Theatre presents their first original production, “Linda & Jason” by new playwright Jenessa Grant.
Produced & Directed by: Evan Harkai
Featuring:
Jenessa Grant, Adam Christie, Jesse Nerenberg & Alex Spyropoulos

“I’m 26! I’m old! I have spent a decade building on this awful, hateful bitterness and resentment, and honestly I think I’m too old and jaded to be any other way. I’m just. I’m so old Jason, I feel, I feel so so so so old. And stupid. I am an old, stupid, bad – person!” – Linda

Linda, 26 moves into her dead Grandmother’s house to clean up before selling it. Realizing she’s still where she was a decade ago she starts dating Jason, 17. This play tackles not being where you think you should be and realizing the garbage in your life isn’t junk and maybe’s more valuable than you think. It’s a romantic comedy about two people growing up together.

“I don’t think my Grandma’s ever even had sex. I’m convinced she was born in a cardigan with white hair and gigantic 1970s man frames.” – Jason

Coffeehouse Theatre is an emerging-artist founded company originally from Montreal. Their previous works include; “The Underpants” by Steve Martin – A Play in 72 Hours, “The Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde & “We Can Change Your Bandages” By Adam Hunter Collier – presented at the 2012 Canstage Festival of Ideas & Creation.

  1. This sounds like a lot of fun. I wasn’t sure what this play was about and just saw some posters, but after reading about it and checking out the FB page I’m really excited to see it. My girlfriend loves romantic stuff and I’ll like it if it’s funny :P
