Announcement: Awards & Patron’s Picks – 2012 Toronto Fringe Festival

Didn’t get to see all the talked about or sold-out shows this year? Don’t worry, as another frantic year of the Toronto Fringe Festival is about to wrap up there’s still plenty of time to catch the ‘must-see’ shows of the festival. Here are the shows that won awards and the shows chosen as Patron’s Picks; the best-selling shows at each venue.

Tosho Knife Arts Performance Innovation Award: Supported by Tosho Knife Arts, the Performance Innovation Award is an audience nominated award for the most cutting edge performance at the Toronto Fringe Festival. The Artist Prize is $500 and a premium knife donated by Tosho Knife Arts. Productions will be nominated through Twitter (hashtag #ToshoCuttingEdge) or through paper ballot at the Fringe Box Office. Along with the Artist Prize, Tosho Knife Arts and the Toronto Fringe are sponsoring an Audience Prize. Each nomination counts as a ballot in the draw for a VIP Pass to the Summerworks Theatre Festival and a beautiful knife from Tosho Knife Arts. Tosho will be onsite during the festival demonstrating their wares and on July 11th Tosho will offer knife sharpening sessions.
