Shakespeare in Action introduces its second annual Shakespeare Challenge

Shakespeare in Action returns with its second installment of their Shakespeare Challenge gala. An event to raise funds to support making theatre more accessible to at-risk youth, the Shakespeare Challenge concludes in an evening full of fun and frolic with music, food, an auction and la piece de resistance: a performance of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

With a cast made up of various Toronto professionals -from realtors to an ex-mayoral candidate to a handful of budding acting talent- and only seven rehearsals (including the dress), this crew of enthusiastic philanthropists is set to dazzle the stage and provide a truly unique and inspiring experience. Each performer intends to raise $2,500 on their own before curtain.

All proceeds go to helping Shakespeare in Action continue its 25 year – and counting – legacy of bringing the magic of live theatre to young people all across the city. The gala performance of The Tempest is happening Saturday, February 23rd.

  1. I love Shakespeare in Action, I wish they had been around when I was in school; I would have learned to appreciate Shakespeare much earlier.

The Gala last year was a lot of fun. Brave people on the stage, they gave terrific performances.
