Cheap Theatre for the Week of November 12th, 2013

This week’s collection of theatre on a budget explores relationships (between spouses, estranged spouses, parents and offspring), the various forms they can take and all the human pitfalls, hiccups and tragedies that can befall them. These stories will make you laugh, cry, but most of all think and consider the relationships in your life.

After Miss Julie by Patrick Marber (Red One Theatre Collective). This version of Strindberg’s play about class, sex and gender roles sets the characters in post-WWII England. Previews Nov 14. The Stronger Variations (Theatre @ York). This version of August Strindberg’s play about a meeting between a wife and a mistress examines the nature of betrayal, desire and loyalty.
