Teeny Tiny Music Show – Toronto Fringe 2017 Press Release

From the press release:

The Teeny Tiny Music Show now plays Toronto after being critically acclaimed the “hottest event of the 2016 Fringe”

Put down your knitting and grab a beer with us at the renowned Pauper’s Pub as we celebrate the “immersive musical rave-up” revue, The Teeny Tiny Music Show.

The show begins as a smalltime singer-piano lounge act that soon picks up as musicians seem to crawl out of the woodwork, to the complete surprise of the audience.

Amidst the musical celebration, our lead singer doubles as a solo storyteller telling the true story of her relationship with an alto saxophone player from Detroit, Michigan, who she approached in the middle of his performance to ask his name, his age, and if he was single. Inspired by “Folk the Winter,” hosted by the Toronto-based Balkan-Klezmer band, The Lemon Bucket Orkestra.

The band paraded with their audience down Queen Street West, meeting two other parading bands along the way. This experience inspired the exciting marching band theatre company, Sneaky Sneaky Productions, founded by Hayley Pace in 2015, whose mandate is to use the power of surprise to create unexpected musical events within a theatrical setting. The Teeny Tiny Music Show was born out of a desire to share the wonder and awe of being surprised by a spectacle of musicians and a touching story of how this experience affected Hayley’s relationships with love, her artistry, and the music in her life.

Our company works with musicians in a theatrical setting, giving them an opportunity to contribute and create in the rehearsal process by actively collaborating with actors, directors, and a new developing script. They are staged into the performance, becoming moving, working pieces of the narrative’s progression.

Hayley Pace is an award-winning performer, designer, and playwright from Kitchener, Ontario who has worked extensively in the Toronto theatre scene and internationally in Antwerp, Prague, Edinburgh, and New York. She has assisted renowned Toronto theatre designers Peter McKinnon, Phillip Silver and Shawn Kerwin as well as Broadway and television actress, Tovah Feldshuh. Other performances include RENT, The Beggar’s Opera and Curtains. She has designed for various companies and festivals including Nuit Blanche, Canadian Film Company, Theatre Panik!, and Canada’s National Ballet School.

Join The Teeny Tiny Music Show for a beer and let the band take you away in a whirlwind of music and joy!
