Fringe for Free! Toronto Fringe Ticket Giveaways for Shows on Saturday, July 8th

fringe-for-free-graphicWe’re heading into the first weekend of the Toronto Fringe Festival and surely all you savvy theatre-goers are getting the jump on the crowds and checking out shows this weekend and not waiting until all the most popular shows are sold out next weekend, right?

Well as an incentive to get out there and see some theatre we’re running a draw for free tickets to five Fringe shows playing this Saturday so click “Read More” for the contest rules and a little something about the 5 shows we’ve got lined up for Saturday, July 8.

Contest Rules

To enter, send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com. Please put the show’s title in the subject line, and ensure we have your full name in the body. (We promise that your email address will not be used for any other purpose: it will not be added to any mailing lists, sold to third parties, or anything like that.)

  • Each email counts as a single entry. If you want to enter all 5 contests, you must send 5 emails.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and are only for the date and time indicated below. Tickets may not be exchanged. Please ensure you can attend the performance listed.
  • All entries must be received by 7 PM on the day before the performance. The drawing will be held shortly after closing, and winners will be informed immediately. Winners are required to confirm their attendance by 10 AM on the morning of the performance.
  • Tickets will be held in your name at the venue box office, available 1 hour before the performance. Tickets will only be held until 15 minutes before curtain: any comps left unclaimed at that juncture may be sold.

The Moaning Yoni

6:45PM on July 8th at the Theatre Passe Muraille Backspace. (16 Ryerson Ave.)

A college student desperately trying to be normal resists the dictatorial pressure of her anthropomorphic vagina (or yoni). Together they cross the battlefield of Tinder, Sex-Ed, and Tantric hippies in a psychedelic journey. An absurd solo comedy about sex, identity and new age ideals, The Moaning Yoni combines dialogue, physical comedy, and song in a hallucinatory coming of age satire.

I am Hope

What happens when the life of the party can’t leave her house because she suffers from anxiety and panic attacks? I Am Hope puts a spotlight on anxiety disorders.

Lover Lover

A lesbian and a straight man walk into a bar: a love story. It’s complicated. Lover Lover is a story on an old theme with a new spin. It is a story about unrequited love, but it is also a story about identity, sexuality, polyamory, and about limitations and possibilities. It is a story about two people who cannot fall in love and cannot fall out of love. It is a story full of surprises.

You Are PerfectYou Are Perfect

9:15 PM on July 8th at the Theatre Passe Muraille Mainspace. (16 Ryerson Ave.)

Inspired by the story of Susan Atkins, a real-life member of the Manson family (a quasi-commune led by murder-conspirator Charles Manson in California in the late 1960s), “You Are Perfect” uses a unique structure and narrative to enter the world of Manson’s ardent disciple, who was implicated in at least eight coldblooded killings, including the infamous Tate/LaBianca murders.
