Fringe for Free! Toronto Fringe Ticket Giveaways for Shows on Friday, July 14

Fringe For Free Graphic We’re almost at the end of the festival, and this is (sadly) the last day of contests from us here at Mooney on Theatre! Hopefully you’ve had time to see most of the shows you want, but just in case, we’ve got six final shows that might strike your fancy! Check ’em out beneath the cut and make some plans for Friday, July 14th!

Contest Rules

To enter, send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com. Please put the show’s title in the subject line, and ensure we have your full name in the body. (We promise that your email address will not be used for any other purpose: it will not be added to any mailing lists, sold to third parties, or anything like that.)

  • Each email counts as a single entry. If you want to enter all 5 contests, you must send 5 emails.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and are only for the date and time indicated below. Tickets may not be exchanged. Please ensure you can attend the performance listed.
  • All entries must be received by 7 PM on the day before the performance. The drawing will be held shortly after closing, and winners will be informed immediately. Winners are required to confirm their attendance by 10 AM on the morning of the performance.
  • Tickets will be held in your name at the venue box office, available 1 hour before the performance. Tickets will only be held until 15 minutes before curtain: any comps left unclaimed at that juncture may be sold.

A Cancer diagnosis is terrifying and – let’s face it – it’s also totally inconvenient when you’re young(ish) and trying to make your mark on the world. Cancer puts Ada’s life on hold, but ultimately teaches her about letting go and what to truly hold onto. Enter a hot doctor, bedside manner fantasies and a half-dozen healthcare professionals who all helped save the day….

Soaring in Liquid Skies

Award winning comedian-filmmaker-writer-multi-hyphenate, Franco Nguyen debuts his heartwarming one-person show and tells the story of his mother’s return to rural Vietnam for the first time in 28 years. Comedy, therapy and film swim together through the murky waters of death, identity and family.

White Wedding

Lisa is having trouble understanding why we spend so much time celebrating painful emotions like love. Will attending her childhood best friend’s wedding at her old high school help her to understand the beauty of emotions? Or she should just hide upstairs?

White Wedding is a new site specific comedy written and directed by Taylor Marie Graham, exploring all those inevitable, big life questions that surface after the anticipation of a wedding is over.

Weirder Thou Art

Friday, July 14th at 12:00PM at the St. Vladimir Institute. (620 Spadina Ave.)

North American humans you think William Shakespeare wrote Mac Beth ha, ha, ha..well we’ll tell you the truth (wink wink) who really wrote the play. Three bouffon women (if you want to call them that) put the weird in the Wyrd sisters. The bouffon search for humanity brings a reluctant William Shakespeare on a journey from a living hell to acceptance.

Bad Dog Theatre Presents: Animated!

Friday, July 14th at 4:45 pm at the George Ignatieff Theatre (15 Devonshire Pl)

An improv show that brings your objects to life! Animated! pays homage to the world of Pixar by creating a fully improvised animated movie. Each show is inspired by an everyday object that the audience wants to see brought to life onstage. From the audience suggestion, the cast creates a detailed imaginary world where these inanimate objects move and speak and have a life of their own. Every show is a different adventure, always following our heroes as they work together to overcome the “bad guys” threatening them. (Ages 8+)
