Blood Weddings, a joint production from Modern Times Stage Company and Aluna Theatre, now onstage at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, traces the bloody family history of several Spanish families involved in a love triangle. What do you get when an apathetic woman, a vainglorious, misogynistic and self-absorbed youtuber, and a performance studies academic go out on Nuit Blanche? Shenanigans ensue in Tarragon Theatre’s The Millennial Malcontent playing at the Tarragon Theatre Mainspace.

A raunchy, contemporary, Restoration style play, The Millennial Malcontent tries to unpack (and fails to understand) ‘millennial culture’ while still managing to be a laugh-out-loud night at the theatre.

The Flirty Boys and Carson Pinch Will Die (2017 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival Double Bill)

My second night at Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival was spent catching the double bill of The Flirty Boys and Carson Pinch Will Die at The Theatre Centre. The comedy on offer tonight was just as intriguing as what I saw the night before and I would highly recommend checking out the rest of the festival this weekend with friends or dates!

Review: Proof (Theatre UnBlocked)

Proof exceeds expectations, on stage at the Red Sandcastle in Toronto

It seems my thing recently is seeing Pulitzer Prize winning plays at the Red Sandcastle Theatre. I figure the Pulitzer means the play itself will likely be pretty good, and I always love the intimacy of that Queen East venue. So it was with high expectations that I took in Theatre UnBlocked’s production of David Auburn’s Proof.
