“Everyone’s either busy or dead.”
From press release:
A dark comedy about the foibles of old age. With a forest fire threatening their home, John and Iris are put on evacuation alert and must prepare to leave at a moment’s notice. However, as the fire looms dangerously closer, the couple learns that even in a marriage of over fifty years there are still some secrets that could destroy their lives.
Writer and director Katie Alguire hails from Kelowna; the forest fire capital of British Columbia. Alguire has cleverly dramatised personal experiences to create a uniquely Canadian play. Work-shopped at the Paprika Festival under dramaturge Anna Chatterton the play is premiering at the 2013 Toronto Fringe Festival.
A young creative team collaborates with veteran actors Tom Bolton and Anne Shepherd to bring what promises to be an intricately layered production.
