MSM [men seeking men] – Toronto Fringe 2013 Press Release

From press release:

9018890275_5f590d82e3_oMSM [men seeking men] is a dance theatre piece inspired by transcripts of online conversations between men who seek other men. Set inside a world of electronic beats where music is the omnipotent power, lemonTree’s Artistic Producer, Indrit Kasapi directs a piece inspired by his own online encounters. He invites DJ Scooter (of New York & Toronto Cub Camp party fame) to spin live at each performance. Through movement, the piece deconstructs online male personas and their personal exchanges with other men. This sexy performance features a team of Toronto’s finest queer dancers including 4-time Dora nominated Louis Laberge-Côté (“Toronto’s dance most valuable player” – NOW Magazine), Andrew Hartley, Corrado Cerruto, and Cyril Limousin along with actor/movers Cole Alvis, Aldrin Bundoc, Ryan G. Hinds and Daniel Ellis. Our Artistic Associate Jonathan Seinen brings his experience with collective creation (Highway 63: The Fort Mac Show) as dramaturg, and scenographer Joe Pagnan  (Gruesome Playground Injuries) completes the team as the set/ lighting designer. Stage Management by Brooklyn Doran.

lemonTree creations is a Toronto-based theatre company that seeds new work, brings productions to fruition, and challenges artists to grow. Previous offerings include Jean Genet’s jail cell drama Deathwatch set in the unfinished basement of an art gallery and Amiri Baraka’s controversial play Dutchman performed inside a vintage TTC bus during the SummerWorks Theatre Festival. The company is also currently developing BODY POLITIC by Nick Green in residence at Buddies In Bad Times Theatre.

Join us this Fringe at the Randolph Theatre as we create using movement and live spinning to explore the personal lives of men who ‘log on’ in search of other men.
