Nocturnal Space by Familiar Faces at the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival is a contemporary dance piece asking the questions: What really is our reality? When looking in a mirror, how do we know that what we see is an honest reflection? Ask yourself, ‘Have I ever actually, truly, seen me?’
Bring the Piano by True Enough Productions at the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival is a collection of stories and songs by travelling singer/songwriter Randy Vancourt (YTV’s Don’t Lick the Pig and Dudley the Dragon). It’s safe to say that Randy Vancourt definitely brought the piano.
When I chose this show to review, it was called Meg Makes Mistakes, and I wish this charming short solo about love and relationships and, well, errors in judgement had retained its original title. Instead it’s in the Toronto Fringe Festival program as Meg MacKay: Freelance Witch and is playing at the in Tarragon Theatre’s small but mighty Solo Room. It’s maybe about three-quarters of the way to being a finished piece, but somehow that’s part of the pleasure in it.
Full Body Pull is when you pull every muscle in your body at the same time. It’s also a funny one-woman sketch show by Haggard Bitch Productions, playing at the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival.
