Shows that Caught Our Eye in Toronto for the Week of February 10, 2020
I sat down to do up this post like I have every week since September, and just couldn’t BELIEVE how much is going on this week! There’s a Blockbuster Musical making it’s Toronto debut this week. There are two great festivals. There is fantastic Black History Month programming all over the city. And as always there is loads of amazing new local theatre too! So – for those of you maybe looking for something do to for a special date night (or not!) – there is definitely plenty of choice out there.
With so much going on in theatre this week I don’t envy our editor Samantha the task of picking out what has caught her eye! Check out her ‘red‘ picks in our listings below!

I had one of those weeks. You know the one where the ‘To Do’ list just seems to go on forever and the week doesn’t seem long enough? That week. And this week doesn’t look much better. BUT… no matter how hectic my week is, I know it’s important to take some time for ‘me time’. And the best place for me time? Somewhere that I can turn off my technology, and where when the house lights go down I can sink into another world. So instead of a ‘To Do’ list, let’s focus on a ‘To See’ list!
This week our editor Lin is going to tell you what has caught her eye and is on her ‘to see’ list. Check out her ‘red‘ picks in our listings below!
Shows that Caught Our Eye in Toronto for the Week of January 27, 2020
The winter blahs have hit our house pretty hard this past week. Damp, chilly weather will do that. The cure for the kids is to get them out to their activities like dance class(es), or an indoor playground. The cure for my partner and I is to search for good theatre tickets. And luckily this winter, there is a lot of great shows to choose from.
This week it is I – Leanne – who gets to let you know what is in on stage this week that has me excited about heading into the dark cocoon of a theatre. Check out my ‘red‘ listing of shows that caught my eye!

Not that I am a winter superfan, but I admit I had been yearning a bit for a crisp white snowy day. With the weather the past few weeks, it had been hard to remember what season it is! I do miss the idyllic winter I remember from childhood. And my kids missed making snowmen and tobogganing… and the hot chocolate and marshmallows afterward.
The thing adult me enjoys most about winter though is all of the amazing theatre. And we are in the midst of one of the best theatre seasons in awhile (in my opinion!). This week it’s our erstwhile Publisher Megan’s opportunity to let you know what shows this week have her itching to hit a theatre this week. Check out Megan’s ‘red’ listing of things that caught her attention and head out to see a show!Continue reading Toronto Playlistings for the Week of January 20, 2020→
Shows that Caught Our Eye in Toronto for the Week of January 13, 2020
The start of this year has been a whirlwind of activity. Last week we dove right back into our regular routine and I forgot just how MUCH we do every week! It’s exhausting, and I am already ready for some much needed ‘Me Time’. What better way to get some of that away from the grind of routing than heading to a live theatre event? And with so many new shows starting this week, we definitely have a lot of options to choose from!
Here to let you know what shows this week have her thinking about some quiet time at the theatre is senior editor Samantha. Check our her ‘red‘ flag shows as she lets you know what has caught her eye and heading out to a theatre seat this week.
