Megan loves being in the thick of all things theatre, but her ultimate goal is to promote theatre to the world of non-theatre people. It was the same when she was the theatre writer for blogTO, or the Fringe Correspondent for CBC Radio One‘s Here and Now, as it is as the founder of Mooney on Theatre. Her basic belief is that there is theatre/performance out there for everyone to love, they just need to find it. This is not to be confused with the idea that everyone should love theatre for theatre’s sake, in fact, as obsessed as she is with theatre, even *she* doesn’t love all types of theatre.
Enjoy Joe White and the Seven Divorecees tonight at 10:30 – if you’re feeling lucky enter the contest and see it for free!
So, tomorrow is a holiday, which means you get to sleep in, so I think a perfect way to spend this evening is going to a musical comedy at 10:30 at night.
Mooney on Theatre is giving away a pair of tickets to tonight’s 10:30 performance of Joe White and the Seven Divorcees, and winning is dead easy.
Just send an email to contests@mooneyontheatre.com with the subject heading "Joe White Contest" and you’ll be automatically entered. Don’t worry, we won’t use your email for anything other than this contest.
The draw will be held at 8pm tonight. If you have a cell phone you may want to include your number in the email so that we can text you if you’re the winner.
Check back regularly to see what new reviews have been posted. EYE has more writers so will likely get stuff up a bit quicker than us, but ours will be a bit longer and more details.
I suggest you check out both.
Reviews will be posted in chronological order, so, if you’re looking for a review of a specific show I suggest you use the search box in the left column.
Well, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s be honest, the little blurb available to people through the Fringe listings on the website and program listings often doesn’t tell you much about the show.
The best way to find out about what is hot and what is not at Fringe Festivals is through word-of-mouth.
That used to just mean talking to people when you were standing in line waiting to go to a show, or while you’re regrouping at the Fringe Club.
But these are the days of technology, so there’s an added way to catch the buzz, twitter.
If you have something to say about the festival use the hashtag #FringeTO so that everyone hears you. And, if you want to find out what Mooney on Theatre has to say, follow us @moneyontheatre
Our goal is to do a daily round up of the buzz we hear throughout the day and publish it here on Mooney on Theatre. We encourage you to add your own buzz in the comments section.
Keep your eyes open on this spot during the 2010 Toronto Fringe Festival for your chance to win tickets.
The contest will be easy. You’ll just have to send an email. We’ll do a random draw and notify the winner. And, don’t worry, we’re not going to use your email address for anything else, just this contest.
