The Arts Engine’s production of Rocketbaby was the second FringeKids! production of the day for Max (my 5 year old grandson). In between shows we were in the Palmerston Library reading stories, making this a brilliant venue for kids shows. Already excited from the first show, Max was all over the place. Group Therapy (Giggling Aristophanes Productions) 2014 Toronto Fringe Festival
Group Therapy is the first production of new Toronto company Giggling Aristophanes Productions. This play, a ninety minutes long musical drama written and directed by company co-founder Marina Moreira, takes a seriously funny look at mental health through the persons of six therapy patients. Group Therapy is a great show promising great things to come for the company that produced it.

No Chance In Hell – A New Musical (High C Productions in association with Cassidy Productions) 2014 Toronto Fringe Review
High C Productions and Cassidy Productions present No Chance in Hell at the Toronto Fringe Festival; a show which they purport to be “a new musical of epic proportions”. Hmm, an epic musical on a Fringe budget? You have to admire their ambition. The results, though maybe not as grandiose as claimed, are still surprisingly satisfying.
Cirqular (Artichoke Heart) 2014 Toronto Fringe Review
I’ll come right out and say it – I’m a puppetry virgin. Outside of the children’s shows I vaguely recall seeing when I was little, and Avenue Q, I have honestly never seen a puppet show. Cirqular, created by the Artichoke Heart Collective, and playing at the Toronto Fringe Festival, was my first foray into that world. The most accurate way to describe my experience was a combination of feeling confused and impressed.

Who would have thought that my favourite show I saw at the Toronto Fringe Festival tonight was going to be Bum Chic Productions’ In Denial: A One Woman Clown Show? I certainly didn’t when the show was assigned to me, but I am so glad it was.
