Shows that Caught Our Eye in Toronto for the Week of August 5, 2019.
Even in the heat of summer, there is so much great live theatre going on in Toronto. Indoors or outdoors, the choice is yours! Whether it’s for date-night, girl’s/guy’s/pal’s night, or introducing the young ones in your life to a live theatre performance, there is something for every occasion, and MoT is here with fabulous suggestions for the theatre-goer in you! This week our assistant editor Jen is here to highlight the theatre events that she would love to see in red! Take a look at our theatre listings below to see what has caught our eye this week.
Dauntless City Theatre presents All’s Well That Ends Well as a walk through Berczy Park
Dauntless City Theatre presented a dreamy, outdoor staging of William Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well in Berczy Park, in Toronto’s fittingly historic St. Lawrence neighbourhood. Dauntless City’s adaptation was a treat for the eyes, heart and feet, and offered a beautifully queer re-imagining of the Bard’s famous play.
Mirvish presents The Office! A Musical Parody that is packed with the same raunchy humor
The gang at Dunder Mifllin are live and with song in The Office! A Musical Parody presented by Mirvish. On stage until August 25, this tribute is made for people who love — and I mean really love — The Office. So hold on to your staplers as this two-hour spectacle is rammed full (haha that’s what she said!) with laughs, songs, some pretty obscure references, and…paper.

But this adaptation of L.M. Montgomery’s novel Anne of Green Gables, with script by Paul Ledoux, is definitely worth the trek to the east side of the city.
