Fringe for Free – The Fecal Monologues, Wednesday July 8 11pm

contest-web-graphic I know a lot of people are trepidations about this one, but from what I’ve heard it’s actually pretty funny.  As Crystal said in the Mooney on Theatre review of this show: “Any play called The Fecal Monologues is going to be 60 minutes of scatological humour. Know that, accept that, and then you can just sit back and enjoy the jokes.  And I did.”

So, in the sprit of Fringe, where part of the point is that it’s all short enough and cheap enough that you can take a risk on something, I think you should check this one out.  Especially if you can do it for free, with, say, a pair of free tickets from Mooney on Theatre.

To win your pair of free tickets to The Fecal Monologues at The Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse (Venue 11 – 79A St. George St) on Wednesday July 8 at 11:00pm

To enter the draw, all you need to do is leave a comment* sometime before 8:30pm Wednesday.

Don’t Jump Smile presents The Fecal Monologues

by Colleen Osborn
Directed by Colleen Osborn & Maarika Pinkney

From the bowels of Colleen Osborn’s imagination, Don’t Jump Smile
presents The Fecal Monologues – logs for short as part of the 2009
Fringe Festival. This well formed piece explores the necessity to
expel no matter how hard we try to hide it or hold it; a taboo topic
that needs to come out. Like birth and death, it’s just another part
of life – not as existential but essential. Come join our cathartic
journey, with a few surprise twists along the way.

Colleen Osborn is a graduate of the University of Guelph holding a
Bachelors of Fine Arts. Her first play, Seen This One Before, was
chosen for the 2006 New Ideas Festival and produced again by The
Village Players later that same year. Her second play, Here to Stay
was showcased as part of the 2008 New Ideas Festival. Her writing has
appeared in ‘m-pty’ and ‘Cahoots’ magazines. She currently works at
the University College Drama Program at the University of Toronto.

Maarika Pinkney is an actor/choreographer making her official
directorial debut alongside Colleen for The Fecal Monologues.  She
has choreographed internationally within the Commonwealth. Recent
credits include the Red Light District’s Methusalem (or the Eternal
Bourgeois) and IVONA princess of burgundia in Toronto, as well as
Da Vinci Code: The Musical in Sydney, Australia.  Currently, she is
completing a Drama Specialist and Cinema Minor at the University of
Toronto.
