All posts by Megan Mooney

Megan loves being in the thick of all things theatre, but her ultimate goal is to promote theatre to the world of non-theatre people. It was the same when she was the theatre writer for blogTO, or the Fringe Correspondent for CBC Radio One‘s Here and Now, as it is as the founder of Mooney on Theatre. Her basic belief is that there is theatre/performance out there for everyone to love, they just need to find it. This is not to be confused with the idea that everyone should love theatre for theatre’s sake, in fact, as obsessed as she is with theatre, even *she* doesn’t love all types of theatre.

Bringing as many voices as possible to Fringe – support TWISI

Depending on how much you read about the Toronto Theatre scene, you may or may not have heard of Amanda Campbell.  She is the founder of the theatre blog The Way I See It.

For now the blog has a pretty strong Toronto-focus, although she is in the process of expanding it.  What does this have to do with the Toronto Fringe Festival you may ask…

Well, right now she’s in Halifax and trying to raise enough money to come back to Toronto so that she can review loads and loads of Toronto Fringe Festival shows.  I’ve donated to her campaign, and I’m taking a moment to encourage my readers who believe a variety of voices is important to consider donating as well.  For more information on her campaign check out this article.

Toronto Fringe 2011 – What’s Playing?

So, the Toronto Fringe Festival starts next week (July 6 – 17, 2011 to be precise).  So many shows, so little time.

If you’re like me – and admittedly you may not be – you’ve been hunkering down with a program and reading all the one or two paragraph descriptions of the shows to find out what you want to see the most.  Or, maybe you’re reading those blurbs online.

Either way, they are short, which is great because there are so many of them, but may also leave you wanting a bit more information.  That’s where we come in.

We are publishing all the Toronto Fringe Festival press releases we receive, and have gathered them all together in one big long alphabetical table of contents to help you find out more information.

So, want to find out more about the shows at this year’s Toronto Fringe Festival?  Check out our 2011 Press Releases at a Glance page.

Enjoy!
